About

The Red Art Project is dedicated to exploring the significance of the color red in art. To fully appreciate this exhibition of contemporary artworks, it is essential to provide an introduction to the concept of color. During the Geneva art fair, we will simultaneously host an art exhibition project focused on red art. This project will feature work from 15 artists at Artium gallery. Titled "RED ART" the exhibition is curated by Francisco Lacerda.

Red Art Project exhibition will take place during the Art fair in Geneve, 2026, at Artium Gallery 11, rue de l’Hôtel de Ville 1204 Genève. The exhibition is curated by Francisco Lacerd. Located in the centre of the Old Town, the City Hall is the political heart of the city. This is where the government of the Canton of Geneva is based. This building houses the famous Alabama Room, where the first Geneva Convention was held in 1864, at the origin of the International Red Cross. For over 500 years, the Hôtel de Ville has been at the centre of Geneva and international life. A true masterpiece of 15th-century architecture, the building features a unique monumental ramp.

The "RED ART" project will delve into the artists' reflections and interpretations of the color red in art. The participating artists will consider the evolution of red throughout art history. Drawing on the rich legacy of red in art, these artists will present their unique perspectives. They may create new works inspired by masterpieces or offer their own political, sociological, psychological, religious, and sexual commentaries. The exhibition will explore themes such as challenging historical traditions, expressing personal and collective identities, and examining how the color red has been understood and represented across cultures and traditions.

The Geneva art fair features over 80 international galleries showcasing their work and artists. The event attracts private collectors, art foundations, art schools, and cultural representatives from the region’s government. Although our exhibition is not part of the fair itself, this is the perfect opportunity to present these artworks in the heart of Geneva.
