Annika Döring was born in Germany. She went to an artist residence of the Dr. Éva Kahán Foundation in Italy. Her artwork has been shown in several exhibitions around the world. Annika Döring is also a fellow of The Royal Society of Arts in London.
She captures seascapes and other topics of nature and the feelings they evoke with intense colors on canvas. She brings a sense of melancholia, euphoria, wilderness, chaos, or serenity. The same sense of melancholy is seen in the works of Caspar David Friedrich, a 19th-century German Romantic painter. Annika's use of subdued colors, contemplative figures, and isolated landscapes creates a haunting beauty, emphasizing the fleeting nature of life and the sublime in nature.
Annika is an artist whose paintings effectively reconnect us with nature and our environment. In other words, Annika paintings reconnect us with nature, firstly with our environment—and thereby motivate us to protect it—and secondly with our own nature—our feelings, our body, our sensuality—with everything that supports us to be ourselves—and therefore to be happy.
'Zarter Himmel, intensives Meer / Tender Sky, intense Sea'.
