Claudia Abdelghafar was born in 1967 in Zurich, Switzerland. Claudia started to paint and draw when she was a child. She is mostly known for painting animals that look almost real. He work is a testament to the artist's exceptional skill in rendering lifelike representations of animals. The level of realism is some works is achieved in every fur, feather, or scale is truly awe-inspiring. The artist's attention to anatomical details and the nuances of animal expressions elevates the painting to a level of unparalleled authenticity.
Beyond technical accuracy, Claudia has captured the emotional depth and individual personalities of the animals depicted. The expressions in their eyes, the play of light on their fur, and the subtle nuances of their postures convey a profound understanding of the subject matter. This expressive portrayal adds a layer of connection and relatability to the artwork.
Animal paintings have a universal appeal that transcends cultural and geographical boundaries. Claudia ability to capture the beauty and diversity of the animal kingdom, specially horses, ensures that her paintings resonates with a broad audience, making it a timeless and enduring piece of art. Horses held a special significance too in the Swiss artist Franz Marc's work. He believed that animals, and horses in particular, possessed a purity and spirituality that was often absent in human society. Horses became a symbol of beauty, nobility, and the untamed natural world in many of Marc's paintings. While Marc's horses were often recognizable, he also employed abstraction in his compositions.
Claudia is known for painting in velvet. Painting on velvet is an exquisite art form that transforms this plush fabric into a canvas of luxurious beauty. The velvety texture adds a dimension of opulence and richness to the artwork, creating a unique sensory experience for both the artist and the viewer. Velvet has a unique ability to absorb and reflect light, resulting in rich and deep colors.
Her personal goal in art is also to make people not only be an observer but also immerse themselves, trying to feel and smell the woods and hear the hoofs from the horses on the floor.
