With more than 500 visitors, the second edition of RED ART PROJECT confirmed its growing impact and strong public engagement in Geneva. The second edition of RED ART PROJECT will take place again in Geneva in 2027 at Artium Gallery 11, rue de l’Hôtel de Ville, 1204 Geneva.
Located in the heart of the Old Town, the nearby Hôtel de Ville stands as the political and historical center of the city. It is the seat of the Government of the Canton of Geneva and home to the historic Alabama Room, where the first Geneva Convention was signed in 1864 — marking the birth of the International Red Cross. For over five centuries, the Hôtel de Ville has been at the center of Geneva’s civic and international life. A masterpiece of 15th-century architecture, it is renowned for its unique monumental ramp.
Hosted by Artium Gallery 11, RED ART is an exhibition project dedicated to exploring the power, symbolism, and legacy of the color red in art.
Curated by Francisco Lacerda, RED ART invites the gallery’s artists to reflect on and reinterpret the meaning of red throughout art history. From sacred iconography to political revolution, from passion to danger, red has remained one of the most emotionally and culturally charged colors in visual expression.
Drawing on this rich historical legacy, participating artists present works that engage with red as both material and concept. Some create new works inspired by historical masterpieces; others offer contemporary political, sociological, psychological, religious, or intimate perspectives — examining how red continues to shape artistic discourse today.
The 2026 Edition
The latest edition of RED ART Project Geneva was marked by an extraordinary evening of artistic exchange and international presence in Geneva.
Held at Artium Gallery 11, the event welcomed over 200 guests, including both local and international art collectors, artists, and cultural figures. The evening became a vibrant platform for creativity, dialogue, and meaningful connection.
The program continued until 9 PM, sustained by a dynamic atmosphere and strong engagement from attendees throughout the night. The energy in the space reflected the essence of RED ART — a project that brings together diverse artistic voices to explore the symbolic and emotional power of red in contemporary art.
The remarkable turnout and enthusiastic participation confirmed the growing impact of the project within Geneva’s cultural landscape. The presence and support of artists, collectors, and guests played a fundamental role in making the evening a true success.
