  • Human-Centric Editorial Control All critical analysis, editorial decisions, curatorial perspectives, and final publications at USIA remain under direct human oversight. AI tools serve strictly as supportive assistants—helping with research, data organization, and language refining—and never replace human authorship or critical judgement.

  • Clear Transparency & Disclosure In compliance with Article 50 of the EU AI Act, we explicitly disclose when AI technologies are used to generate, enhance, or transform content: 

  • Text & Editorial Content: Articles, essays, and reviews are written and edited by human authors. Where AI tools assist in research or draft structuring, the final text is rigorously reviewed and validated by human editors.

  • Visual Media & Artwork: Any visual elements, illustrations, or synthetic media generated or modified using AI models will be clearly labeled and tagged with metadata indicating AI provenance. 

  • Interactive Site Features: If you interact with automated tools, interactive widgets, or virtual assistants on our platform, you will always be notified that you are engaging with an automated system.

  • Copyright & Intellectual Property Respect USIA respects the creative rights of artists, writers, and cultural practitioners. We ensure that any AI tools integrated into our workflow comply with copyright standards and do not unlawfully ingest proprietary creative works.

  • Data Privacy & Security We ensure that any automated tools or AI integrations operating within usia.co.uk strictly adhere to general data protection standards (GDPR) and do not harvest user personal data without explicit consent.
