Biography 


Mónica de Morais lives and works in Cascais, Portugal. As the creator of a multifaceted body of work centered on painting, drawing, and printmaking, her most recent pieces explore themes of humanitarian and spiritual reflection. She began her training at the National Society of Fine Arts (Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes, 1992–1997) and studied printmaking at Atelier Paiva Raposo. Since then, she has regularly participated in solo and group exhibitions across Portugal, Spain, France, England, Italy, and China.

A notable highlight of her international career is her participation with printmaking works in prestigious international biennials in Kanagawa (Japan), Taipei, and Taiwan (Formosa). Her artistic talent and merit are showcased in prominent collections and institutions worldwide. Her work is represented in the Florean Museum of Contemporary Art (Baia Mare, Romania), the Luo Qi Modern Art Museum (Hangzhou and Qingtian, China), the Eileen S. Kaminsky Family Foundation (New York, USA), and the House of Arts / Hangar-7 (Salzburg, Austria), in addition to being held in numerous private collections.
